Looks like new!

Resurfacing in a sandy beige colour of a driveway in northern NSW

George contacted us following a recommendation from Dulux. I was very excited to do a job in a different colour than the usual dark grey. Indeed our client chose a warm sandy beige with a tasteful chestnut and white fleck.

We ended up doing a lot more crack repair than expected since a good pressure wash job can reveal a lot of cracks. It is easy to oversee the importance of a thorough crack repair before resurfacing. But my experience in fixing jobs for other applicators taught me not to underestimate this task. A poor crack repair will lead to discoloration and sometimes lifting over the cracks. Not only aesthetic, the crack repair avoids water leeching up through the cracks.

The rest is as per usual and got done during a particularly windy day. We therefore had to have one member of the team permanently blowing off leaves but what a result we got!

Pacific Coast Christian School

Resurfacing of school balcony

We got this job done for Rohrig construction on a first floor balcony. The concrete wasn’t perfect and the builder got us in just after hand over to provide their client with the best looking finish.

This job was a new challenge for us: unable to use hydrochloric acid to etch the slab because of all the metal present around and the school operating so close to us. We grinded the uneven slab entirely dust free save to our Husqvarna HClass vacuum and the quality shrouds over all our grinders. We vacuumed he slab multiple times to ensure all the dust was gone and applied à densifier to enable the primer to sit on the upper 6mm of the concrete as it should and not run down into the slab too fast.

the protection of the right side was also difficult as we had to make sure nothing fell down in the gap between the metal poles and the slab. We found solutions for that too and got a great final result.

Our client’s driveway was covered with a coloured hardener and likely an old same day sealer. Tire tracks were appearing more and more, in wet weather it had become slippery.

We repaired the cracks and grinded the ramp to ensure a perfect adhesion. Our resurfacing compound adheres by penetrating the top part of your concrete and a grinded surface is the best way to ensure that penetration.

We made sure to spray a heavy texture coat and reached a really good slip rating (p5).

Final Product

This job was a coordinated effort with our floor preparation partner, Jonas, from Laid To Perfection. Jonas and his team did an awesome job grinding the concrete to largely reduce and in most place remove entirely the stamped pattern. They used extremely powerful vacuums to remove as much concrete dust as possible as they grinned. That ensured not only to keep the job clean but also to avoid any silica dust exposure for the workers, homeowners and neighbours.

We came into pay to give the driveway an ultimate clean, necessary for adhesion and durability. We then proceeded to resurface with a different method of application to ensure we were filling any of the remaining deeper parts of the stamped Finnish and therefore leaving the homeowner unable to still see the undesired pattern.

The satisfaction of the homeowner when he came back from work was contagious and we where very pleased with the result and the appreciation of our client.

Another good job finished.

“Lucas has just completed resurfacing our drive, the result is amazing. Top team are professional and passionate about their work, which is appreciated. We highly recommend Lucas who walks you through each step, on time, reliable and a clean worker. Thanks Lucas 🌞” – Google review from our client.

Finished product, the driveway is resurfaced and sealed, the homeowner is delighted and recommended us to other people.

Enough of the pebblecrete

A couple of weeks ago we finished a job for Neil in Arundel. His pebblecrete driveway was worn, slippery, hard to maintain, outdated. Some minor cracking had appeared and we started with carefully fixing them.

The process of resurfacing took 3 days and we ensured everything was done as best as can be. The shadows became a challenge that we overcame with the use of fans to help the resurfacement to dry.

We achieved a P5 slip rating which is enabling our client to walk and drive up and down his driveway without fearing loosing grip.

We are often times faced with the reality of homeowners having to wheel up and down their bin on a slippery driveway prior to our work. The countless stories of people falling due to the lack of grip and the weight of their bins dragging them forwards are making us realise how important having a well made and well maintained coating over your driveway matters.

We pride ourselves in the review our clients leave us, Neil went and commented on our Facebook advertisement “I just had my driveway done by Lucas great job well worth it”.

Another happy customer, for a happy team.
